The European Healthy School and Drugs project is a co-operation project in which national and regional structures and organisations that are active in the field of drug prevention work together with the specific aim to improve and develop innovative concepts for school based drug prevention (SBDP). The EHSD project focuses on drug prevention programmes in school education that have the aim to "prevent non users, experimentational users and recreational users from using substances in a harmful way".

The Football Association

This area of work involves the education and awareness of up to 20,000 young and youth players (9-21 year olds) attached to professional club Academies or Centres of Excellence.

National Healthy School Standard

National Healthy School Standard
The National Healthy School Standard (NHSS) is jointly funded by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and Department of Health (DH) and is managed by the Health Development Agency. It has three principal aims:

  • to raise educational attainment
  • to reduce health inequalities
  • to promote social inclusion.
Through the NHSS, 150 nationally accredited education and health partnerships have been established across England � these partnerships between Local Education Authorities and Primary Care Trusts in turn provide support to schools through local healthy schools programmes.
