Tacade is a leading not-for-profit charitable organisation working to promote the health and well-being of children and young people with a wide client base including nurseries, schools, the youth service, Connexions, Youth Offending Teams, prisons, Pupil Referral Units, Advisory Staff and parents/carers locally, nationally and internationally. Increasingly, Tacade works with the more vulnerable, at risk children and young people.

Tacade publications are linked to all the major guidance documents for personal, social and health education in schools and in the youth service throughout the United Kingdom, including PSHE: Personal wellbeing; Drugs: guidance for schools; Sex and Relationships: Education Guidance; Drugs: Guidance for the Youth Service; Personal and social education framework for 7-19 year olds in Wales; Curriculum for Excellence. The publications will also enable schools in England to be Ofsted ready and to meet the Every Child Matters agenda.

Tacades publications have been thoroughly researched, developed and trialled prior to publishing in order to deliver quality, accessible and practical user friendly resources in a variety of formats.

Tacade has worked across the world enabling countries including Belize, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Uganda and the Ukraine to develop appropriate culturally sensitive health education materials for professionals working with children and young people.

New Patron

Tacade is delighted to announce that Darren Campbell, MBE, has agreed to become a Patron. Darren was born in Manchester and, at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, won a gold medal in the 4 x 100m relay defeating the favourites for the event, the United States. Darren retired from athletics in August 2006 and currently his many roles include working with young people across the country to share his experiences and help inspire them to reach their full potential, plus working with several Premier League football clubs as a pace and acceleration specialist. Darren was the guest speaker at Tacade’s 40th Anniversary Lunch at the House of Lords in June 2008.
