Each resource contains ten easy to deliver sessions focusing upon aspects of knowledge and
understanding, skills development and attitudes.
The photocopiable handouts are in large font, with additional copies in larger font for those
children and young people with a visual impairment, so that the sessions may be fully inclusive.
Included in each resource is a FREE CD ROM containing the handouts in order that they may be enlarged
further if required.
'Keys to sexual health and relationships' is focused upon key aspects of the developmental process
that young people will be encountering at this age, including puberty, sexual health issues and relationships.
This resource is aimed at young people aged 11-14 years old.
The aims of the 'Keys to ....' series are to enhance the knowledge and understanding of a variety of
key health issues; to develop and enhance the skills required; and to develop the self confidence and
promote the wellbeing of children and young people to enable them to make an informed healthy choice.

Life Matters - New!
A board game for young people aged 13-19 years old
about life's opportunities, risks and challenges |
|
Life Matters is an engaging and interesting way for young people to
learn about sexual health, drug, alcohol and tobacco issues. Up to
twelve people can play the game at one time. It is an enjoyable way of
focusing young people on drug, alcohol and sex and relationship issues.
The game throws up the unexpected, just like life. It takes knowledge
and sound decision making to become a winner. With a role of the dice
and an unlucky card everything can change.

system.
Sex Drugs & Alcohol contains:
- 15 core activities plus extension activities
- 25 cartoon style illustrations showing situations common to
young people
- Background papers and support information for facilitators
and teachers.
Feedback Recieved:
This resource has been used in our Adult Training Centre with the 16 to 19 year old residents during the weekly 'Looking after myself' sessions. The young women have found the several sessions that have dealt with issues out of the resource incredibly beneficial. In particular, the family planning, relationships and getting home safely sections have definitely made a difference to the young women as Sunraye and they are now much more aware of their actions in regarding relationships and spending social time in the community.
Save the Family
Sex education and the issues of drug and alcohol abuse are already comprehensively covered in our schools but these packs will help reinforce the messages we are trying to get across. The materials are excellent, particularly as they are designed for use with young people of all abilities. This Tacade resource aims to enable young people to make use of their own ideas, experiences and concerns as well as increasing their awareness and understanding of sexual health issues, and the risks associated with alcohol use and drug taking.
We want young people to be able to explore attitudes, values and feelings about sexuality and gender issues, prejudice and discrimination. It will also help them build on their personal and social skills.

Feedback Recieved:
We have used this manual in the weekend clubs for older children. The varied nature of the subjects has encouraged the children to join the clubs, and the most popular project has been the sections on citizenship and careers. The children who take part in these sessions have spent a long time suffering from the effects of social exclusion and therefore, they are subject to bullying and other dangers that the communities pose to them. The citizenship project has offered very useful advice on keeping safe in the community and how to deal positively with bullying. The careers project has brought about clear thinking from the children about their futures and until now, the children had not received any information or had any help from their families about careers and their hopes for the future.
